Foster families are the heart of our rescue. Every foster home gives guinea pigs a safe, loving place to stay while they prepare for adoption or receive the care they need.
Fostering also allows us to help more animals. When our available spaces are full, we may have to turn away guinea pigs who need us. By becoming a foster, you help make room for the next rescue.
Running Out of Hay provides guidance and coordinates the care of guinea pigs in our foster program. You provide the space, attention, and compassion that make their journey possible.
Share Your Time & Talents
Running Out of Hay is a small, growing rescue. While we aren't currently recruiting for general volunteer positions, we're always interested in connecting with people who have skills, experience, or availability that could support our work.
Help Behind the Scenes
Depending on our needs, opportunities may include transportation, field rescue and capture, foster coordination, adoption support, communications, and administrative assistance.
Some roles may be occasional, while others could involve ongoing support.
Have a Special Skill?
We welcome interest from people with professional experience or specialized talents, including grant writing, fundraising, photography, graphic design, technology, nonprofit administration, and more.
